Right so, a lot has happened since I last updated and I apologize for the lengthy time that's between. I hope you can all keep up.... I am no longer in the kitchen, someone has come in and taken over. Today was the official last day because I had all my sales reps come in and meet the new girl Lara. Actually Lara and I are good friends, we are staying at her house when we go down to Queenstown for outreach. It has been hard handing over the kitchen, in many ways it's like a child and you just need to let go. I didn't think it would be hard but it was and in some ways still is but I'm easing out of it. My last meal that I will be cooking will be on Wednesday September 7th, 2011. I'm excited but I'm not sure what I'm making yet.
We leave for outreach in 11 days!!! I can't believe how fast it's come up!!!! I'm super stoked though, I love my team, they are epicly amazing with a lot to offer! I may be bias but we have a really sweet team! I'm stoked to see how God is going to move and how he is going to use us. We are a bold team, what I really love though is how much like family we are. We just enjoy each other! God has blessed us with an open honest team, not saying we won't have our difficulties or times of trial but that we will work through them with the goal of coming out stronger in mind.
Through all this transition, I also had to move rooms! I am now living in the main house with all the students and 2 other staff. To be quite honest I am loving it! Although it's noisy and reminds me of my grandparents house to where you can hear everything and anything I am enjoying being so close to the students. It's a privilege to be in there with them. I think I'm being blessed with rest because I'm not getting to bed until 12:30 and getting up at 6am, but feeling well rested!
Change is the most normal thing I will know in my life. I quite enjoy it because it's something to be tested and stretched in. We need to remember that there will always be hard times and times of learning new things, it's when there isn't you should be worried. Over all this time here what I have learned is conflict resolution gets easier to where you can enjoy it (not always, just saying), we need to have a "whatever" attitude, forgive quick, love the ones around you, encouragement is huge! So much stuff has come out of this and so much more is about to come out from outreach!
We did sermonettes last night just a 3-5min speech incorporating the gospel somehow. Leaders didn't have to do it, but half way through Josh looked at me and said "lets free ball it off the cuff!" In my head I was like, I had a feeling he was going to say that, so with 2 min to prepare myself I gave a 3 min speech on 1 Cor 1:25-31 incorporating the bible. It was actually really fun, I haven't done that since high school in forensics. I love public speaking, it's so much fun!!!!
So that's pretty much the lowdown on what's been happening in the life of Courtney.... Not to sure what' else to say so Enjoy where you are and what you're doing, you don't know how long it will last! Much love!!!!
