Kaikoura
This past weekend we went to Kaikoura hiking for 4 hours. Kaikoura is about 3 hours away from Oxford, on the east coast. It was so good to see the ocean up close and not on the plane this time. We hiked up a mountain which was easy compared to last weekend, on the way back we hiked along the shore. This was so interesting and funny because we had to dodge waves from high tide and we had to dodge seals. The seals smell like fish, and the dead ones smell even worse. It was fun though, in order to get around a seal you can't go between them and the water because they will chase you so you have to go between the land and the seal staying 10 meters away from them. We had to "convince" some seals to get out of the way for us to pass, which was fun. I got soaking wet from the ocean after going around some corners that we had to go in the water to pass. After the hike and getting back to the vans safely we drove to another beach where they have free camping. It was so awesome to have a bon-fire on the beach and just hangout with one another, listening to the waves crash along the shore. Let me tell ya my head felt so clear after this weekend that I feel like I can conquer the world! I got a lot of stuff sorted with God about Outreach and just life in general. It was amazing.
