I don't know why but I've been reminded of song lyrics lately since we arrived in Chiang Mai and most of them inspire me or keep me going to finish strong. Today is our free day and I woke up at 9:30am and left by myself at 10am. Everyone was still asleep. I just needed some time with me and God! It was so great I went and sat in a coffee shop for 2 hours just writing in my journals and people watching. After being out last night and seeing all the prostitution here in this city, God has really shown me how he fills me up. All the people last night were so empty and I could see that. They haven't found the meaning of life, they have just found their old disgusting man for one night that they think sweet he can fulfill what I need just for tonight then tomorrow night I can have someone new. It makes me so sad and angry. When we walked around last night I was praying for the people in the bars we passed and for the families of some of these married white men that come here for that. It's so sad to see, I just wanted to get on a box last night and say to all the men wearing wedding rings WHAT DOES THAT RING MEAN TO YOU!!!! But I know it probably wouldn't have done any good because we have that same problem in the states. I really felt God holding my had last night and I felt him blinding my eyes from some of the things. My heart breaks for empty people, the people who don't know any better. When I was out this morning there are a lot of the old men out from last night either walking to their hotel or to their meetings or what ever they came to Chiang Mai to do in the day. We are leaving tomorrow for Laos. Hopefully there will be more backpackers up there for us to meet and talk to. In this city there are more elderly couples here vacationing. Which is also good and I have talked to some people but our main focus is backpackers. I know God is going to do something amazing with our group and with me. I still don't know why I'm in Thailand yet and I don't really know what God is going to use me for, but there is a reason I'm here. I hope everyone is well and I hope you all have a Happy New Year!
