Johnny Cash...

Alright so it has been a week that I've been in New Zealand, which is amazing. I have a bit of a story for those that don't really know me and a bit of a confession. Johnny Cash is one of my favorite musicians, I have just always found myself loving him more and more. My Grandfather passed 2 years ago in September, he listened to Johnny Cash like no one's business, I got on well with my grandfather he was a pretty cool guy in my eyes. I learned a lot from him too. Like how to play cards, last night I stayed up with 4 of my friends here and we played cards until 2:30am. (there are no students on base so we need to entertain ourselves) I tend to get competitive at cards, but I think God has a different plan for me because I lost last night at a fairly easy game. When I lose I tend to have my grandfather come out in me, it's fun though. Losing can be fun, as my grandmother says everyone just cheats... It's all fun and games.
So back to Johnny Cash ever since my granpa passed I always hear 2 songs by this amazing artist. A boy named sue, and Folsom prison blues. When I was home for the six weeks every time I got in the car these songs came on. They make me smile because I take it as granpa saying hello. Weird though just plain weird.
I have moved into my permanent room for the next two years. My roommate Laura is amazing such a sister in Christ.
So that was a little about me, cooking is going so great I couldn't be more thankful to do this for this base. Some of us are going to Ken & Jenny's tonight they are a couple that live down the road and they take us staff in when we want to get off base for a night, they welcome everyone as family. I love that about everyone down here just the trust that goes around. I pray everything is going good at home and for anyone traveling anytime soon...
